Rust preventative paint, primer and top coating
I’ve always used POR-15 rust preventative paint but recently discovered Brantho-Korrux 3 in 1. POR-15 performs extremely well, but is only available in limited colours. Depending on the application it requires additional painting. Brantho-Korrux 3 in 1 is described as rust preventative paint, primer and top coating, all in one. Because it’s available in just about any RAL colour, it could save some time. I decided to give it a try on this project. My Mitsubishi L300 4WD has a R42 paint code (Pamir red). Using a RAL swatch, I matched it to RAL 3004 (Purple red). It’s not a perfect match but it comes pretty close as you can see in the pictures. It didn’t create a smooth finish but that might me because of the inferior quality of the Hornback paint roller I used. The short haired roller kept disintegrating on me.
